Riku's pretty much grounded forever, when they get back, not that this surprises anyone. What does surprise people is that he doesn't even argue about it - except Sora and Kairi, who worry, instead. But there's really not much they can do; they're still considered kids, back home. (Sometimes, Sora has to pull out his Hollow Bastion Restoration Committee card and just look at it, for a while, so he doesn't forget. He is responsible, he can be trusted with important things. Even if he does find school really boring.) Sora thinks it's unfair, that Riku's grounded when he's not, but Riku's parents have always been really overprotective, while Sora's... haven't. Riku just looks at him, when he says so, with a kind of half-smile that Sora doesn't really like. Sora wants to make Riku sneak out and hang out with them anyway, but Kairi says she thinks it's something Riku needs to do, so he doesn't. Kairi's better at this sort of thing than he is. Still, it means that it's just him and Kairi, and it's not like that's bad or anything - he loves being with Kairi! - it's just kind of disappointing. That he can't hang out with Riku, even though he'd looked for him for so long. But it's still nice hanging out with Kairi. Sometimes they get ice-cream together and that's really fun, but mostly. Well, mostly Kairi gets him to help her learn how to use her keyblade. Sora isn't a great teacher. He learns mostly by doing. Sometimes by being yelled at, but mostly by doing. Kairi doesn't mind though, because Kairi's awesome like that, and they mostly play-fight. Even if she wasn't just learning he's pretty sure he couldn't ever fight Kairi seriously. It's just. She's Kairi. He's gotta protect her, not fight her! But even though he's not exactly a good teacher, Kairi's getting better. Sora notices, but he doesn't really notice - not until she knocks him to the ground one day. Stands over him and holds her 'blade near his neck. "Yeild?" she asks, and Sora shakes the sand off his face and looks up at her, and and and "KAIRI!" he yells, slapping a hand over his face, which he's pretty sure is about to burst into flames. "Sora?" she asks, clearly confused. "What's wrong?" "Um," says Sora. Peeks around his fingers, and - argh! "Kairi," he whines. "Put some pants on! I... I can see..." There's no way he's going to say it. He'll die of embarrassment, he's sure. "O-oh," says Kairi. Sora looks up when he's sure she's moved, and she's bright red now, too. "Um," she says. Still holding onto her keyblade, but, uh. "Um," Sora says back, sitting up. He can't... he can't really look at her right now. He. Just. "...let's. Let's get ice-cream, okay?" asks Kairi. "O-okay," says Sora. He's pretty sure he's not going to stop blushing ever, but that's. That's kind of okay with him.

"Yeild?" she asks, and Sora shakes the sand off his face and looks up at her, and
and
and
"KAIRI!" he yells, slapping a hand over his face, which he's pretty sure is about to burst into flames.
"Sora?" she asks, clearly confused. "What's wrong?"
"Um," says Sora.
