Kingdom Hearts Meta-Tree

The idea of this post if to create an easy way to share meta and other fannish things without the pressure to create a separate post. You can write your thoughts on a specific character or pairing - detail why X is more awesome than Y or just what makes you think so-and-so are best friends/enemies/lovers. You can share the music you listen to while writing/drawing KH fic and art. You can share what you think about a specific game, from 'not as good as XYZ', to critiques of art and costuming. The key part, though, is to just go ahead and comment.

If there is a topic you think needs to be added to the comment tree, then simply comment in the appropriate place, and let other people tell you what they think.

                                              Sora is a genuinely nice person, it's easier to relate to Riku because of these 'flaws'.

I still haven't managed to get a copy (here in NZ). I have an idea what happens, but I don't *know*. I feel cheated.

WORST RANDOM ENCOUNTER ENEMY EVER, especially in the GBA version.

What was worse was when you'd try to hit something else to get orbs but Sora's controls were so damn bad that he'd hit the barrel spider instead.

It's a challenge! I wouldn't say it's my favourite thing ever, but you can play around with it and combine the cards and that's pretty cool!

Yeah, same. It kind of sucked when you only had weak cards, but once you got more it was better. And it honestly wasn't that hard of a system to figure out once you knew the rules.

This game has made me the world's biggest nerd.

No seriously. I'm writing my honours thesis on Aqua (and Terra and Ven for comparison). As a case study for a linguistic analysis approach to video game gender analysis, which surprisingly enough doesn't exist yet as far as I've been able to find. (Not that the field in itself is particularly, uh. In-depth. I've yet to see a study that analyses games on more than the first half-hour of play. Yeah, I know. I know.)

Less than the first hour-half of play is one of the stupidest things I've ever heard.

It really sounds interesting. How're things going?

Land of Departure

I keep wondering how much of the worlds there really is! I mean, it can't be just what's we see in-game- that wouldn't support people, yeah? Though that kind of comes through in a lot of games, I guess…

But more relevantly, the Land of Departure gave me an impression of being held together by chains! I wonder, maybe it was wounded? Would the four of them be able to support themselves?

I always got the impression that it was a backwater sort of world, set aside specially for keyblade-master training, kind of a bit like jedi, only on a little world of their own. And that once upon a time it was thriving with people but after, you know, the keyblade war, not so much. And now it's pretty much Eraqus and his kids students. :( Pretty lonely, for him!

Possibly the world got injured in the war, too? So, stopgap measure, particularly since they wouldn't have had a whole lotta manpower, afterwards. And then it was just there, and it worked...

Seriously, he really, really does. It was HILARIOUS, but also kind of. Well, I was staring at my DS screen for five or so minutes, going did he seriously just say-?.
Because um. Wow.

But maybe the English translation wasn't so blatantly slashtastic? I haven't played it, so I don't know. (Do people even know which scene I'm talking about? I don't really want to spoil it if you haven't got there yet, because it's. Wow.)

Now I'm curious, where, Worlds-wise, des that scene occur in the game? Because I'm not terribly far in yet but want to keep an eye out for it just in case. :3

Also, this game is SO MUCH FUN TO PLAY, it's fantastic. You can level up EVERYTHING and the status matrix = A++++

...still have to get the Ultima Weapon, though. That thing's scarily hard to get.
