The idea of this post if to create an easy way to share meta and other fannish things without the pressure to create a separate post. You can write your thoughts on a specific character or pairing - detail why X is more awesome than Y or just what makes you think so-and-so are best friends/enemies/lovers. You can share the music you listen to while writing/drawing KH fic and art. You can share what you think about a specific game, from 'not as good as XYZ', to critiques of art and costuming. The key part, though, is to just go ahead and comment.
If there is a topic you think needs to be added to the comment tree, then simply comment in the appropriate place, and let other people tell you what they think.
How it works:
(Top Level Comment:) Characters
Meta or discussion about characters goes here.
|---------------(Reply:) Riku
All musings about Riku start as a reply to this comment. Anything goes,
from motivations and changes in his character over the course of the games
to a critique of his hairstyle. Have fun.
|---------------(Reply:) Hero vs. Anti-hero
Part of Riku's appeal is the contrast he provides to Sora. Sora is cheerful, open, unselfish and
he makes friends with everyone he meets. In contrast, Riku is moody, more inclined to hide his
real feelings, possessive about his friends and suspicious of the motivations of strangers. While
Sora is a genuinely nice person, it's easier to relate to Riku because of these 'flaws'.
|---------------(Reply:) The blindfold is cool.
Very existentialist, but mostly just cool. Goes well with all the black.
Current categories for discussion are:
Characters:
Pairings, friendships and other ships:
Fan Soundtrack:
Games:
Links, recs, and other fannish things:
If you can think of another category you think needs to be added as a top-level comment, then please suggest it by commenting below.
Rules are simple:
1. Use the subject header in your comment, please. This lets people know what they are looking at, and, for the games section, provides spolier warnings.
2. Be civil. You may not agree with somebody's statement about a character or pairing, but no bashing. Just reply to the comment and tell us why. Discussion is the whole point of this post.

Land of Departure
Date: 2011-04-29 12:22 pm (UTC)But more relevantly, the Land of Departure gave me an impression of being held together by chains! I wonder, maybe it was wounded? Would the four of them be able to support themselves?
Re: Land of Departure
Date: 2011-04-29 12:29 pm (UTC)kidsstudents. :( Pretty lonely, for him!Possibly the world got injured in the war, too? So, stopgap measure, particularly since they wouldn't have had a whole lotta manpower, afterwards. And then it was just there, and it worked...
Re: Land of Departure
Date: 2011-04-29 12:38 pm (UTC)…I would love to see it when it was thriving.
Yeah. I wonder how people would go about healing a world, too… Maybe it has an idea of how to start that itself? But if the Land can be completely transformed… hmm, I don't know. People's hearts conjoined with land?
Re: Land of Departure
Date: 2011-04-29 01:13 pm (UTC)And yeaaah, particularly after the Xehanort confrontation where Xehanort scars him, I mean. Even duty and tradition might not make even a guy like Eraqus talk to the dude ever again, but if he's that alone... well. =/
Yeah! ...I'm kinda sorta writing an Eraqus brings Terra and Aqua up fic, but not so much with the earlier, except hints at the edges. That would be really cool, though!
Well, you'd probably need a Princess of Heart, to start off with. While Ven might count, at least kindasorta, he's also not particularly strong, according to the plot, so! Maybe if he wasn't in a coma postgame and Eraqus was still around it'd be okay... *sighs* Oh, Nomura.
Re: Land of Departure
Date: 2011-05-02 09:29 am (UTC)I guess especially people who are more or less equal, rather than students, too.
Ooooh! :D
Yeah. Princesses would probably have some kind of bond, or the ability to build a bond as needed, maybe? I get the feeling it wasn't a focus for Ven, but that wouldn't necessarily mean that much for how much strength he would've had initially…
Re: Land of Departure

Maybe yeah, 'cause obviously they can move world and still be the Princess, see: Kairi. Probably some sort of feeling of loving their world? Because I don't think Ven did; I don't think he hated it, but that's a different thing entirely.
Re: Land of Departure
Date: 2011-05-02 10:53 am (UTC)Yeah, that makes the first idea kind of tricky! Loving the world definitely sounds right. Mm, I think he was more about Terra and Aqua.
Re: Land of Departure
Date: 2011-05-02 11:05 am (UTC)*nodnodnod*
And yeah, totally was. Didn't ever really decide he wanted to be a keyblade master (as opposed to just taking it for granted as his life path) until lateish game, so!
Re: Land of Departure
Date: 2011-05-02 11:13 am (UTC)Oooh, yeah, that would make a difference, too! Deciding on a goal.
Re: Land of Departure
Date: 2011-05-02 11:17 am (UTC)*nodnodnod* He gets treated like a kid a lot, too, so I guess that might have an effect? Growing up, I mean. Though Iono, the story Kairi's Grandma tells focuses a lot on kids, so maybe not. =/
Re: Land of Departure
Date: 2011-05-02 11:38 am (UTC)It's kids who restore the world, yeah. Hmm, responsibility and consequences…? But that would be part of what the training is teaching them. *throws hands up >:(*
Re: Land of Departure
Date: 2011-05-02 11:43 am (UTC)Yeah. I dunno. Kids tend to have a lot of good faith and stuff, maybe? But Ven has that in SPADES. *facepalm*
