Warning: this post contains frivolity.

Hi, oh my favourite comm ever! It is nearly time for [community profile] three_weeks_for_dw again! (And by nearly I mean the end of April, but~~)
I don't know how many new members we do or don't have this year, but last year's commentfic fest was made of fantastic, so I want to run something again!

And thus, a poll!

Poll #6221 [community profile] kingdomhearts' [community profile] three_weeks_for_dw participation poll 2011!

Please don't feel shy about making suggestions! I mean, last year's was organised with like. Three days to spare. With real planning, this year, anything is possible!
It'd be really REALLY great if you have ideas for helping to include non-fic creations~ I don't like people being left out, if they want to make things. >:

Also I think this year we can probably offer up invite codes for anyone who wants one? If there's anyone that still does, of course. I've got eight on this account, and a few others floating around - how about you guys? I'm not actually anticipating we'll need a whole lot, and who knows, maybe DW will have an open account creation week again, but it's something to think about.

Things that encourage art/fanmixes/anything else I'm missing would also be fantastic! I'm not sure how- a post especially for that sort of thing, maybe?

…did I really do that *facepalm* Let's see how the changing votes thing works then

Hmm to tell the truth I'm not sure! I mean, in theory prompts should be able to be used for any form of filling, but there's always a lot more fic fills than art fills which I figure is probably due to the different levels of effort involved. And the kind of thing that says 'image' to the prompter might not necessarily say 'image' to someone looking at the prompts :x. I think situation/concept prompts can work fairly well though! More detail in prompts tends to say 'story' to me rather than 'image'.

I think the best thing is to try things. *hugs?*

*nods* Yeah, and I think there's kind of a preconceived idea that stick-figure art isn't necessarily good. Maybe using something like Tegaki E would be good?

Oooh, icon round robin sounds fun. :3

People picking different expressions?

That's what trying things is for!

Oekaki boards? Yeah, I don't know much about them either. (General ones, seeing what kind of stuff people came up with…?)

Yeah, that sounds pretty good too.

What about something like a macro post? There's got to be a bunch of those floating around.

Probably… It'd be good to know how much interest is in that, I think. :x

Yeah, that kind of thing! :DDD It doesn't seem that hard, it'd be coming up with something that's funny that's the hard part.

Yeah, I think that's good. Crossposting would get more people noticing, probably, so that's a good idea!

\o/ Hmm, well, even if it's something that just amuses you?

*yeeee*

OH YEAH also I have a bunch of codes too if needed!

I wasn't here last year, but this definitely sounds like a cool idea. In addition to fic, I can also do fanmixes; I'd also offer mini AMV snippets, but my video maker's been touchy with my comp lately.

I definitely enjoyed the comment fic meme (obviously) and would be game for another go - and something that offers the chance for different media to be included would be good.

I'd also like to encourage people to offer some meta - thoughts about characters and motivations, etc, continuity between games (bound to get a few people up in arms), pretty much anything. We all have opinions, but we tend to keep that sort of thing on our personal journals.

I have some invite codes to offer as well.

I'm not really sure. One word prompts tend to give more flexibility, but at the same time it limits what people can ask for.

Regarding meta and/or other squee, I had an idea based on a community I saw somewhere else. It was fic-based, but used comment trees. The first person would comment with a character, the next person might offer a second character for a pairing, then a third comment held a prompt. But the tree format struck me as a possible way for people to share things they don't usually, so you could start with a character, add a thread for pairings/ships, another for meta, maybe another for songs/vids, and then one for fanworks? Comments starting each thread would need to be clearly labelled in the subject line for easier browsing, so maybe that is something that would require a little moderation, but if people are willing to participate (and 3wfdw is good for this), you could end up with something fairly impressive.
