Hi, oh my favourite comm ever! It is nearly time for
![[community profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/community.png)
I don't know how many new members we do or don't have this year, but last year's commentfic fest was made of fantastic, so I want to run something again!
And thus, a poll!
Did you participate last year? Leaving prompts totally counts.
How did you find it?
What about this year?
2nd round! Faito!

Let's do something else this time.
2 (18.2%)
Actually I think we should ... and I will tell you about it in the comments, because relying on psychic powers is just going to doom me to disappointment
1 (9.1%)
tickybox would like to remind you we could do more than one thing
6 (54.5%)
Roundup posts!
Also, spoilers! I think people should warn for spoilers for...

I don't think there should be any spoiler warnings at all
0 (0.0%)
Because...
spoiler warnings are just polite
6 (50.0%)
I/someone I know hasn't played said game(s) yet
3 (25.0%)
I think after a certain amount of time spoiler warnings aren't necessary
3 (25.0%)
I don't think spoiler warnings are neccesary, for whatever reason

Please don't feel shy about making suggestions! I mean, last year's was organised with like. Three days to spare. With real planning, this year, anything is possible!
It'd be really REALLY great if you have ideas for helping to include non-fic creations~ I don't like people being left out, if they want to make things. >:
Also I think this year we can probably offer up invite codes for anyone who wants one? If there's anyone that still does, of course. I've got eight on this account, and a few others floating around - how about you guys? I'm not actually anticipating we'll need a whole lot, and who knows, maybe DW will have an open account creation week again, but it's something to think about.

Date: 2011-03-08 02:27 am (UTC)Yes! Do want! Hmm. The same sort of prompt thing, or... what? *ponders* Over at
I JUST DON'T KNOW, KUNENK I JUST DON'T KNOW. I'm not good at this kind of thing! >___

Date: 2011-03-08 02:42 am (UTC)Hmm to tell the truth I'm not sure! I mean, in theory prompts should be able to be used for any form of filling, but there's always a lot more fic fills than art fills which I figure is probably due to the different levels of effort involved. And the kind of thing that says 'image' to the prompter might not necessarily say 'image' to someone looking at the prompts :x. I think situation/concept prompts can work fairly well though! More detail in prompts tends to say 'story' to me rather than 'image'.
I think the best thing is to try things. *hugs?*

Date: 2011-03-08 03:07 am (UTC)Yeah! Particularly with the detail thing - if someone wants, 'Axel and Roxas - planning a surprise birthday party for Xion', then it's really kind of hard to do it in one picture! Whereas, something like 'Axel and Roxas - high school delinquents' can go either way! And now I want both of those, fff.
I think a lot of people do do fic 'cause it's quicker/easier. Then again stick-figure art can also be hilarious, but I think people might not post it 'cause they'd think people would think it's a cop-out? Fff, Iono.
Trying things is good! ...I kind of want something to do with icons, too, Iono. I mean, icons are fun, but. Hmm. Icon round robin? Someone makes an icon then leaves a prompt for the next person? Or something?
Community-made moodtheme?
Aaaah, Iono what would worrrrk~~

Date: 2011-03-08 03:20 am (UTC)Oooh, icon round robin sounds fun. :3
People picking different expressions?
That's what trying things is for!
no subject
Date: 2011-03-08 07:02 am (UTC):D Yay!
Yeah! Have a preset size and then people can... I dunno, claim expressions, maybe. Say with a maximum of five?
...maybe in rounds? So, first week max. claim of five, and you have to have them in by the end of the week, then see how many are left for the second week?
General Kingdom Hearts? Game specific? I don't know if we've got enough people for character specific, though maybe if everyone wanted to work on one for character x it'd work out. (Though maybe not with all characters, given canon.)
Personally I'd say no fanart unless you drew it yourself or have public permission you can link to, but I guess that might have to go to a vote if we'd do it. *ponderponderponder*
TRUEFACTS. And also why I'm making this post now! :D So there's time!

Date: 2011-03-08 11:44 am (UTC)Yeah, that sounds pretty good too.
What about something like a macro post? There's got to be a bunch of those floating around.
\o/

Date: 2011-03-08 11:51 am (UTC):D Shiny~
OH HEY MACROS. I hardly ever see them so I always forget but DUDE THAT COULD BE FUN. We could have a Macros/CAPSLOCK OTP post or something? And it's not all that hard to make a macro, really? At least I don't think it could be, you just put some text on an image, yes?
*happydance~*

Date: 2011-03-08 12:37 pm (UTC)Yeah, that kind of thing! :DDD It doesn't seem that hard, it'd be coming up with something that's funny that's the hard part.
*dancing! \o/*

Date: 2011-03-08 03:24 pm (UTC)*nodnodnod* And hey, I have faith in people's ability to do that! Though not necessarily my own.
:D *wheeee~~*

Date: 2011-03-08 11:48 pm (UTC)\o/ Hmm, well, even if it's something that just amuses you?
*yeeee*
OH YEAH also I have a bunch of codes too if needed!

Date: 2011-03-09 11:20 am (UTC)WELL THAT'S TRUE, but still.

.o/ Awesome! *happydance*

Date: 2011-03-08 04:21 pm (UTC)Fanmixes are also cool! :D You definitely need more general prompts for them - hell, just character names/pairings/etc should work, right? - so I guess it's more like art in that way? *trying to figure out how to make things work* OR HEY, you could just post stuff as part of Three Weeks, should you desire!
I figured the whole community aspect is kind of a draw, though, 'cause you can post whatever you want any time you like! *snerks*

Date: 2011-03-15 05:44 am (UTC)I'd also like to encourage people to offer some meta - thoughts about characters and motivations, etc, continuity between games (bound to get a few people up in arms), pretty much anything. We all have opinions, but we tend to keep that sort of thing on our personal journals.
I have some invite codes to offer as well.
no subject
Date: 2011-03-16 08:48 pm (UTC)*nod* That could be cool too! Um. Another post with 'put your meta here' or something? (The continuity almost kind of makes sense! Which is actually more than I'd expect from Nomura, given everything!) Yeah, or in chat or whatever; I don't tend to post much about 'random meta thought x', but I have a lot of them.
\o/ Yay!

Date: 2011-03-18 07:52 am (UTC)Regarding meta and/or other squee, I had an idea based on a community I saw somewhere else. It was fic-based, but used comment trees. The first person would comment with a character, the next person might offer a second character for a pairing, then a third comment held a prompt. But the tree format struck me as a possible way for people to share things they don't usually, so you could start with a character, add a thread for pairings/ships, another for meta, maybe another for songs/vids, and then one for fanworks? Comments starting each thread would need to be clearly labelled in the subject line for easier browsing, so maybe that is something that would require a little moderation, but if people are willing to participate (and 3wfdw is good for this), you could end up with something fairly impressive.

Date: 2011-03-18 09:27 am (UTC)Huh. So, say, you'd have a 'Sora' comment, and then replies to that comment you'd have, say, 'genfic' and replies to that would be genfic recs or meta-ramblings or something? That COULD be pretty cool! :D
