Pairing: Hints of Kairi/Riku. Also a little bit of Sora/Kairi.
Word Count: ~198k words, complete
Additional: AU. The first two chapters are largely set in canon, but from Riku's perspective, though there are some added scenes. This is intentional and does not reflect the whole fic, which starts diverging from canon like crazy as the plot goes on. Contains lots of Disney references and characters. The story is more adventure focused, so don't expect a lot of romance. If you love Donald and Goofy, you'll be glad to know that I do too! They play a big part.
Summary: Riku always longed to see the outside world. When his dream is finally realized, it's not without a cost. He opened the door, destroying his world in the process. Now, with the Keyblade in hand, he must learn to look past his selfish tendencies in order to save the worlds and his friends.
The story is now complete and forty-two chapters long! A sequel is in the works.
